In this country with the most Catholics of any country in the world, Natal is celebrated with the world’s largest floating Christmas tree.

The Christmas Tree that lights up Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas lagoon, in the the Zona Sul, is the 14th annual edition. It's impressive- 85 meters tall, with thousands of light bulbs, and a team to take care of the structure 24 hours a day.
The opening ceremony, resplendent with a fireworks show, took place on December 5th. Like most Brazilian celebrations, it included the performance of a great musical concert.
The tree will be on display until January 6th.
